The Evaluative Framework:
Coherence, Morality, and Utility

When there are no facts against which a belief or action can be checked, correspondence-based evaluation does not apply. We cannot know the absolute truth about any idea that cannot be proven. Under those circumstances, three standards remain available (and usually sufficient) to decide what is best for people to believe: coherence, morality, and utility.

These values constitute a framework for developing and applying practical wisdom: a way of evaluating thought and action that is rigorous without being dogmatic, and that contributes to well-being, effectiveness and good will.
